Newham Lodge No. 8627 – Year in Review
Newham Lodge No. 8627 has continued to make steady progress over the past year, maintaining an active and welcoming presence within the local Masonic community. Our Lodge of Instruction meets weekly at the East Ham Conservative Club, providing regular opportunities for members to practise ritual and support one another. Our formal lodge meetings are held at the Chingford Masonic Centre.
The lodge welcomed two new members in 2025 and Passed one Brother in 2026, reflecting continued growth and commitment to the Craft. Many of our members regularly visit other lodges across the Province, strengthening fraternal ties and contributing to wider Masonic life.
Charitable work remains central to our values. Through Race Nights and Quiz Nights organised by Bro. Clive White in both Newham and Canvey Island, we have raised significant funds for a range of local causes. We have supported charities including Richard House Children’s Hospice (prior to its closure) and several organisations within the borough that provide essential community services. We remain open to supporting any local charity in need and welcome enquiries.
Looking ahead, the lodge will continue to focus on membership and charitable activity, ensuring that Newham Lodge remains active, supportive, and true to the principles of Freemasonry.
